Let the train take the strain - The Far North Line

Added on 19 September 2021

Train crossing the canal swing bridge at Clachnaharry Inverness

A lovely train journey from Inverness takes you round the Beauly Firth, past the Cromarty Firth and the Dornoch Firth then runs alongside the North Sea. Fabulous views. The train goes all the way to Wick but makes a lovely day out if you only go part of the way to Dunrobin Castle, Dornoch, Golspie or Tain then return.  A scenic day out.
