A cottage to return to time and time again

A beautifully kept cosey cottage with all the comforts of home but with such amazing views across the Moray Firth to the Black Isle its hard to tear yourself away. The cottage is pet friendly and has a neat, safe garden for pets to enjoy. Ardersier is a small village but has all the amenities of a larger place with good eating places on hand without the need to drive. Love it. Will be back!

Wonderful Holiday!

This cottage is lovely with a superb view. Extremely well equipped, comfortable and feels very private. Kitchen is great with everything you need, lots of books and guides, ample everything! Lynn (owner) has definitely gone above and beyond. All the goodies she left us and our labradoodle were sweet, kind, thoughtful and much appreciated. Very dog friendly with secure garden, and amazing Nairn beach is just minutes away. Great location too for many days out, food options and for the convenience of Inverness. Highly recommend and would love to come back and stay again soon. A week just isn't enough! Do contact Lynn directly though if shows booked on Trip Advisor as she manages it through her own site. Thank you for an amazing holiday!

Great Cottage

Lovely cottage with everything you could possibly need. Lynn has thought of everything and has made a folder with all the places to visit places to eat walks places of interest. A nice touch was the welcome package that Lynn left for us with all the essentials we would need milk, butter, bread, tea, coffee even free range eggs and even better was the welcome gifts for the dogs new toys treats and even poo bags. What a great stay we had and the garden was just perfect WE HAVE HUSKIES!
Loved our stay we will be back xx

Well worth staying at again and again ...

Very pleasant stay with all the facilities you would desire with off street car parking available and also very central for travelling all round the Beyond Inverness and the Moray firth coastal regional area.
Also very welcoming for well behaved pet dogs to stay which really suits us.

What a wonderful place to stay

Dolphin View cottage is located in a lovely village with wonderful views over to Chanonry Point. The cottage is cosy and well equipped and was a perfect base for our holiday. We travelled with our 2 dogs and were delighted to see a welcome pack for them as well as us, a lovely touch we've never experienced before. The owner was so helpful from the point of booking and provided lots of information about dog friendly walks and places to eat prior to our visit. The enclosed garden is very secure and the dogs were safe and happy playing out there. We walked to Fort George along the coastal path, it's well worth a visit and we were able to watch the dolphins from the ramparts. We took the dogs to Nairn, Lossiemouth, Chanonry Point, Embo and Dornoch beaches and they had a ball running around them all. We also saw the dolphins from the Chanonry Point beach, very close to shore. We had a wonderful holiday and were reluctant to return home. We would highly recommend it.

Better then what we anticipated! Truly a wonderful Cottage.

We were searching for a 'pet-friendly' holiday cottage near Inverness when I found Dolphin View at Ardersier. From the minute I booked it, Lynn the owner contacted me and introduced herself and provided  me with so much helpful information that made me feel that I had selected the correct holiday cottage for us and our 2 dogs. We cannot fault the Cottage or it's location at all and we had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. Lynn kindly left a Welcome Pack with food and even treats and gifts for the dogs. That to me was just going that extra special mile for your guests as many other top Hotels/B&B/Self Catering just don't do that. Lynn is a truly wonderful host and ensure's that you have a pleasant stay in her Cottage. The garden is secure for the dogs and they were also very happy. Even the Neighbours were very friendly and Ardersier is a lovely village with loads of nice walks and places to go, sadly we never saw any Dolphins (next time). I would have no hesitation in recommending this (Pet- Friendly) cottage to others who wish to have their beloved pets with them on holiday. We can't wait to back in 2016.

Dolphin View Cottage
Jon and Lynn: 15 August 2023
We have just returned from our 5th stay at the cottage and we've had the most wonderful time. The cottage is fully equipped with everything that is needed. The raised water bowls were a lovely addition this year. This is what sets Dolphin View apart from other supposedly dog friendly cottages - Lynn pays such attention to detail. The cottage has a fully secure garden and the most amazing views from the front. The sunsets are absolutely stunning. Ardersier is ideally placed for sightseeing and, after 5 years of visits, there remain many new places to explore. We have been fortunate to see bottlenose dolphins at Burghead and Chanonry Point, and we love the beautiful, dog-friendly beaches along the Moray Firth, especially Nairn and Roseisle. We certainly recommend this cottage and we look forward to returning again.

We have just spent a wonderful week on holiday with our two Poodles in Dolphin View Cottage. It is a lovely warm home away from home, beautifully clean and so well equipped. We were particularly touched by the doggy welcome pack we found on our arrival, especially the holiday ID discs that had Lynn's contact details on one side and I am on holiday. If alone I am lost on the other. Our dogs come everywhere with us and this was the most 'dog friendly' holiday we have ever had. Having a holiday at the beginning of April can bring unpredictable weather, to quote Lynn we had interesting weather. We had sunshine, rain, rainbows, cloud, mist, hail and snow. It didn't matter one bit. We got out and about every day, visiting all the places on our wish list and returning to a nice warm cottage afterwards. The view from the cottage is incredible, the local walks are lovely, there are interesting places to visit very nearby and we saw dolphins on three separate occasions. We had the best time.

We love Dolphin View cottage at Ardersier. It was our second visit in November 2019. It's very dog friendly. The cottage sleeps 2 with a single chair bed in the lounge. Cottage is very well equiped and the bed is really comfy. Wonderful views across to Channory point across the firth from the bay window. Great walk from the door on the coast path to Fort George which is well wort a visit and there's a free pass for visitors to use. Fantastic views from the path and the fort. The village has pubs that serve food which I understand are very good but having an anxious dog we didn't visit on an evening for food. We can recommend the fish and chip van that visits every Tuesday though. Great places to visit either for a day trip or just an hour or two. We love exploring the forests with our dogs. We also love the beaches. Nairn beach is just a few miles away.
Love Dolphin View
Yo Dunn: 31 July 2019
I stayed in Dolphin View for a week with my lively Cocker Spaniel a couple of years ago. I have been back every year since and will be staying twice in the next year! It's so peaceful and the view is magnificent. Endless off-lead dog walking a short stroll away. My spaniel loves to chase seagulls on the beach and rabbits in the woods! Lynn is extremely helpful and responsive to emails, whilst being wonderfully unobtrusive and giving us our space when visiting. Such a totally secure garden that even my expert escape artist can't find a way out!
already rebooked for next year
Lynn Hancock: 30 July 2019
We have just returned from an amazing stay at the cottage and have had the most wonderful time. We've already booked again for next year. ?? The cottage is spotless and had everything we could need. The attention to detail is fantastic. The cottage is the most pet friendly we have come across, and our dogs had great fun playing on Nairn beach and on local walks nearby - there is a wonderful path to Fort George from the front of the cottage, for example. The garden is secure (very important for us) and there are many, many options for dog friendly days out. Lynn is a fantastic host and provides helpful information about what to do in the locality and surrounding areas (including maps). Her communication with guests is exceptional.
Lovely Break..
David Cobb: 01 April 2019
Visited for first time late March 2019 with my partner and her dog. We had, after a 10 hour drive , a very warm welcome by the owner, Lynn. The cottage had everything one needed, was very clean and comfortable . Excellent views and ideally situated for walking or driving to other areas of interest ,and there are lots. Lovely arrival gift for the dog was also a kind thought . We will return for sure. Dave, Carole and Bella...Swindon, Wiltshire.

Wonderful Holiday
Stu and Annette Lambert: 17 August 2015
We enjoyed a wonderful week in Dolphin View Cottage. The welcome packs for ourselves and Bryn our WhippetX were much appreciated (much fun was had by Bryn with his new frisbee in the garden) and the cottage had all we could wish for to enjoy a relaxing break. Both the secure garden and the shore side walk literally just across the road were perfect for Bryn. The view from the living room window was beautiful and we even saw dolphins while looking through the binoculars provided without having to leave the comfort of the cottage! The surrounding area is just lovely and we enjoyed visiting both Inverness and Nairn. We would love to come back as soon as we are able and explore The Black Isle. We thoroughly recommend the cottage and the wonderful hospitality we received to all. Thankyou :-)

Thanks for the lovely week at Dolphin View. The cottage was warm, comfortable and well equipped. We also found that it was ideal for our puppy as the back garden is very secure. Thank you also for the dog treats etc. The whistle seems to have turned Dolly into a remote controlled puppy! We would love to stay there again.

Cottage is very well stocked, has everything you will need. We were very lucky with the weather, the whole week was dry, hot and sunny. Saw Dolphins at Chanonry Point a few times, we also saw them from the front window through the zoom lens on our camera, they were riding the bow wake on the ships coming in during the morning. Saw red kites in Kessock and lots of seals at Conon Bridge. Thanks Lynne for the welcome pack. Hubby liked the cheese so much he went to the pantry and bought loads to take home.
Just perfect
Karen Kerr: 23 March 2024
3rd visit to Dolphin View Cottage and have booked another 2. The cottage is very cosy and welcoming and is equipped with everything you could possibly need. I visit with my greyhound and as well as a welcome pack for me which includes fresh eggs from Lynn's hens there is also a welcome pack for Khan. Ardersier is perfectly situated between Inverness and Nairn and there are lots of beautiful places to visit within a few minutes drive or further afield. I would recommend this place to anyone whether you want to chill out and relax or explore the surrounding area.
Lynn: 29 March 2024
Thank you Karen and Khan for your lovely comments.
