Great to see, the largest sled dog event in the UK, lots of Huskies and sleds. 

27th February - 4th March Inverness Music Festival

A competitive music festival with a chance to develop your musical talent.

8th March Inverness Half Marathon

Half marathon and 5k fun run.

26th April  Etape – Loch Ness,

Closed road cycle sportive starting and finishing in Inverness. 900m of climbing, 67 miles with timed king of the mountain stage.

29th April to 4th May Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival

TBC usually beginning of May Bandstand Beer and Music Festival, Braeval Hotel Nairn.

160+ real ales, ciders and craft beers, 130 single malt whiskys, meet brewers, BBQ, pub quiz, charity stall and live music at the Bandstand bar, Crescent Road, Nairn.

2nd May Glen Affric Duathlon The Glen Affric duathlon is a run/bike/run event that is suitable for everyone.  Not only will the experienced athletes find it challenging, but the environment also makes it a very rewarding event for novices.  All levels are encouraged to enter.

17th May Gordon Castle Highland Games and Country Fair, Fochabers.

13th June, Truckness at Clune Farm, Dores

20th June Highland Cross.

20th – 21st June.  Scottish Traditional Boat Festival, Portsoy Harbour, Portsoy.

4th July European Pipe Band Championship, Bught Park Inverness.  Pipers, dancers and drummers gather for this spectacular event being held in Inverness for three years to 2021. for tickets visit 

4th July Forres Highland Games, Grant Park Forres

18th July Inverness Highland Games, Inverness.  Traditional Highland Games (Saturday) Highlands strongest man and woman, Pipe bands, parades, tossing the caber, heavy events and kilts, bring your camera

30th July to 1st August. Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, near Beauly.  Featuring an eclectic mix of acts. In previous years, acts have included Tom Jones, Paloma Faith, Charlatans and the Proclaimers.

1st August Nairn Show, Kinnudie Farm, Auldearn, Agricultural Show.

5th & 6th August Black Isle Show, Muir of Ord Agricultural show with sheep shearing, ring events, displays, flower and produce show and lots more.

7th & 8th August.  Highland Field Sports Fair, Moy.

Field and country sports including fly fishing, terrier racing, gun dog scurry, pipe bands, falconry, archery, food and craft stalls.

13th August Grantown Show, a traditional agricultural show.

8th August Highland Gathering at Castle Leod, Strathpeffer.

28th to 31st August Thunder in the Glens, Aviemore. Loads of Harley Davidson bikes, a sound and a sight not to be missed

4th October Baxters Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running. Marathon, 10k, 5k races

25th October. The Culloden Run, A challenging 17.46km run from Culloden Battlefield passing through stunning scenery and historic landmarks; Culloden Battlefield, Clava Cairns, River Nairn and the awesome Nairn Viaduct, or a flatter 10km option. The most historic run in Scotland for Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland.
