Scotland's Salmon Festival last held in 2015 incorporated several events including The Alexander Grant Casting Competition, a Fair with a theatre kitchen, a salmon barbecue, exhibition and children's activities. A film festival, live music events, an evening of lectures at Eden Court, Salmon, Science and Society conference at Inverness College campus and a student workshop, 2017 is expected to expand with more events.

Within walking distance of the cottage, you can experience a Highland extravaganza at the UK’s largest military fort – the spectacular backdrop to the Highland Military Tattoo, There will be three evening and one matintee perfomrance featuring massed pipes and drums, a mix of local, military and international acts, a flypast, Highland dancing, vignettes and competitions. The Tattoo celebrates the best of traditional and contemporary Highland culture. The show culminates in a dazzling fireworks display.

16th July to 20th July 2018 - Golden Retriever Gathering at Guisachan, Cannich
The gathering will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Golden Retriever breed at Guisachan House by Lord Tweedmouth.
