About the cottage
Dolphin View Cottage is a cosy one-bedroom cottage in the pretty coastal village of Ardersier. The cottage sleeps two people in one bedroom and is very dog-friendly welcoming up to three dogs free of charge.
Ardersier itself lies between Inverness and Nairn on the Moray Firth - famous for the resident population of dolphins. Only three miles from Inverness Airport with its railway station and good bus service, the cottage is easy to get to and has great transport links.
The cottage has a comfortable living room with electric heating and log-burning stove. Freesat/On-demand TV/DVD player and radio. The dining area in the bay window gives sea views over Ardersier Bay and the Moray Firth to Chanonry Point on the opposite coast. A selection of board and card games, books, local guides, Ordnance survey maps and information are provided for your use.
The fully fitted and equipped kitchen has a microwave oven, kettle, toaster, fridge with icebox, electric oven, slow cooker and washing machine/tumble dryer.
The bathroom has an electric shower, good sized hand wash basin and toilet, the bathroom is kept nice and cosy with a wall heater and heated towel rail.
Electric heating throughout with a wood-burning stove for cosy evenings in after a day exploring the area.
The double bedroom has lots of storage space so you can unpack properly with hanging space in the wardrobes. All bed linen and towels are provided.
In the living room there is also an Ikea chair bed in the living room with 180 x 80cm mattress making a comfy single bed for an additional adult or older child.
The enclosed rear garden benefits from a 6' high wooden fence and is laid to grass and shrubs with garden table, chairs and portable BBQ provided
Off-street parking on own drive, with a gate.
A welcome hospitality pack containing milk, butter and a local cheese is provided to get you started. There is also tea, coffee, sugar and some seasonings in the cupboards.
Dog-Friendly - pet bowls, treats, ID tags, dog toy and towel are provided, well-behaved pets welcome.

There is lots to do in the area. Bird watching, Coastal walks, Sailing, Cycling, Dolphin watching, Fishing - sea and loch. Easy level walking from the door - Traditional Music, Children's Playground 1 mile. Golf, Sailing, Forest walks 3 miles. Driving Range, Horse and pony trekking and riding, Leisure Club with gym, hot tub, sauna, and steam room. Shooting, Aquadome, Football Pitch, Minigolf, Pitch & putt, Swimming Pool, Cinema, Tennis, Bowling, Theatre, Leisure centre & indoor pool 7 miles.
Dolphin View Cottage (previously Maw Cottage) was purchased in 2011 by Lynn Birch who has lived locally for over 30 years. Lynn is a dog owner, a keen walker, birdwatcher and outdoor enthusiast. If you have any queries she can offer great suggestions for days out and dog-friendly places to visit. If you have been directed here by a search for www.dolphin-view.co.uk don't worry it is the same cottage, but I no longer use that website.
The cottage is a one-bedroomed cottage and is best suited for couples. However, there is an IKEA chair bed that can be used in the living room.
Book with confidence. Dolphin View Cottage complies with the strict safety measures and conditions set out in the Civic Govenment (Scotland) Act and has been authorised to operate as a short-term holiday Cottage. SHORT TERM LET LICENCE NO: HI-60006-F. Issued by the Highland Council on 6th April 2023. The licence is valide for three years. EPC band E.
